    Hi everyone,

I invite you to participate in a study to determine how the various Sustainable Development Goals either promote or detract from achieving sustainable oceans throughout the Pacific Rim.

Oceans are integral to nations across the Pacific Rim. What social, economic, and environmental actions and policies will contribute towards achieving sustainable oceans in Pacific Rim countries, and what will detract from this goal? Together with the Association of Pacific Rim Universities, the Nippon Foundation Nereus Program at the University of British Columbia, and EarthLab at the College of the Environment at the University of Washington, we seek to answer this question. Answering this question will require input from experts like you, and we have created a survey on a user-friendly online platform.

The survey itself only takes 5-15 minutes to complete. For more information on our study, you can contact Gerald Singh at g.singh@oceans.ubc.ca. If, for any reason, you wish to retract your responses or change them, you can also contact Gerald for this. Please complete our survey at

If you can think of another person who would be a relevant expert for this undertaking, please contact Gerald Singh and provide their name and (if possible) email address.

We look forward to your response. Thank you very much for your time and for providing your expertise.

    Sincerely,

    Gerald Singh
