Transport to and from short courses

    Is any transportation being provided to the University of Nottingham Malaysia for the pre-conference courses? I need to travel from the airport to the dormitory on 19 July for a course on the 20th, and then back to KL that evening. Thanks for any advice.

    Transportation will not be provided to the University of Nottingham Malaysia but will be provided to KL on 20 July.

    Detailed travel information will be sent out this week.

    Good morning!

    I also have to attend a pre-conference course at the University of Nottingham Malaysia from July 20th to July 21th.
    I would be happy to share a ride from Kuala Lumpur to the University!
    My plane will arrive at 4:55PM on July 19th at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA 2).

     It was really difficult to find a way to go from Kuala Lumpur to the University (maybe I do not use the good information?), but here is what I was thinking to do:
    1. use KLIA Ekspress from KLIA 2 to KL sentral (line 6 or 7). The travel is about 32 minutes and cost 55RM.
    2. use the KTM Seramban line (line 1 in blue) from KL sentral to Kajang - junction between line 1 and line 9 (line 9 in green). Train every 15 min, travel around 30 min and cost 4.30RM.

    3. take a Grab to Kajang from the campus, around 20 min of travel (no idea about the price) or a taxi (30 RM to negotiate)

    Does someone plan to do the same travel? Or has another option for a shorter travel?

    Hi Murielle,

    I also fly into KL on the afternoon of the 19th and am looking for people to travel to UNottingham with for the short courses (because getting lost on international public transport isn't so bad as long as you've got company!) My flight gets in at 5.45pm - maybe just send me an email  (pia.lentini@unimelb.edu.au) if that plan sounds ok to you.

    Hi Murielle,

    A quicker, easier and probably cheaper way from KLIA2 (or KLIA) to the short courses at University Nottingham Malaysia (UNM), Jalan Broga, Semenyih, would be just to take a Grab car or taxi straight from the airport to UNM. Official taxi coupons can be purchased at the airport with either (1) a fixed price to UNM (pay at the airport) or (2) official airport taxi going by taxi meter (pay the driver). A taxi will probably cost ~RM70-80. You can check the exact price at the taxi ticketing counter at the airport. Grab cars will be a bit cheaper.

    Agreed with Boyd that the easiest way would be to take a taxi/grab directly from KLIA/KLIA2 to the Nottingham campus if you are attending the short course. The campus is located about 25km southeast of KL. KLIA/KLIA2 is also located to the south of KL and it wouldn't make sense to go to downtown KL first.
