    UPDATE AS OF 15 June:

Hey everyone! Thanks so much for tour continued interest in joining the tour. Unfortunately, as of now we are at full capacity and reached 10 people. I'll keep you posted if someone drops and we have another spot available!

    All the best,

    Javi

    -----------------------------------------

    Hello everyone!

I'm a PhD student going to ICCB. I don't know anyone else going so I'd like to find travel buddies to do the Akagera National Park trip. I saw the prices from ICCB and they are pretty expensive for me as a student. So I've been getting in contact with other tour operators with different price options, and also other people have given me advice to even do a self-organised trip (as you can get a guide once in the park), which would greatly decrease costs. The more the merrier :)
Would anyone be interested? I'm flexible with dates, planning to arrive a couple of days prior to the conference and leave a few days after.

    Thank you! :)
    Javi

Hi Javi and All, my name is Volker Mauerhofer from Mid Sweden University, I will participate as researcher also in ICCB 2023 and I also thought to go self-organized to Akagera. I just wonder if one day is not too short, given the distance to go there (according to google maps 2,5 hrs one way). In any way, here my email address volker.mauerhofer@miun.se and I might arrive around 17th July as I also plan to go - self organized - to a Gorilla tour (which might be a challenge due to ticket number restrictions). Best regards, Volker

Hey Javi - you've done very well here! I know you must feel like a tourism operator at the moment, but I'm looking to join a group for an Akagera trip as well. My original intent was a two day (20-21 July), but pretty flexible.

My email address is daniel.rogers@adelaide.edu.au. If you need help sorting some of this out let me know - happy to help out! Thanks again!

    Hi Javi,

I responded earlier (volker.mauerhofer@miun.se) and wonder

    1. whether I am on your list of those 8 people (more meanwhile I assume)?
    2. what the day schedule would be about and
    3. what the exact conditions would be?

    Best regards,

    Volker

Hello Javiera would you mind contacting me in my email: sespinosa@janegoodall.org? I also want to organise something similar for the days before the congress, maybe renting a car and camping in akagera, so maybe we can share tips!

    Thanks :)
