Hi everyone,
The call for nominations for board members for the Participatory and Citizen Science working group is open. The deadline has been extended until 15 July 2025. The open positions are:
Education and Training Officer. Duties include:
- lead the development of educational and training activities and programs for the professional development of Working Group members in collaboration with members of the Working Group and the Society.
- collaborate with the Student Affairs Officer to promote a supportive environment for students in the Working Group
Student Affairs Officer. Duties include:
- maintain standing as a current student,
- lead efforts to encourage student participation in the Working Group and the Society,
- assist the Education and Training Officer in outreach to students.
Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Officer. Duties include:
- raise awareness and discussion about justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion across the Working Group,
- lead efforts to foster justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion within the Working Group board and membership, the Society, and the conservation community at large
Member-At-Large. Duties include:
- oversee the Tracking Outcomes project
- assist in duties of the Board and committees as needed
- take on other leadership initiatives as desired

If you are a PaCS member, I hope that you will consider running for one of the open positions. And if you are not a PaCS member, please consider joining PaCS if you are interested in participatory and citizen science, and join the board. PaCS has been without a full board for several years and this has limited what can be accomplished for the working group. We also need a full board to keep it from becoming suspended or sunsetted due to inactivity.
