    Hi all, 

    I'm a PhD student from Peking University in China, now planning to go on field trips operated by MAKARIO SAFARIS after the congress and trying to find several travel companions. 

    The current plans are to go to Akagera NP on July 28, and Nyungwe NP on July 29-30. The itineraries and costs for both trips are attached below. We considered the gorilla trekking, but gorilla permits at Volcanoes NP were sold out, so the travel manager suggested a chimpanzee trek to Nyungwe NP instead, which is not listed on the ICCB Field Trip page. Note that the chimpanzee permits are also limited, so anyone interested in chimpanzees should move fast!

    Now we have a four-person group going to Akagera NP, and a two-person group going to Nyungwe NP. We are looking for more companions to reduce the costs as well as make our trips more exciting.     Update: up to now, there's only one more chimp permit left on July 30, so we could only have one more companion to Nyungwe NP. Still, this permit might be sold at any time. Hope to get our companion soon.

    There's no such restriction for Akagera NP, so feel free to contact me at any time if you want to join.

    Happy to meet a front-line conservationist! 

    We've already completed our payment. If you decide to join, you may directly contact the travel manager of Makario Safaris (mwaka@makariosafaris.com). Just say you want to join the same group as Jia Tian and Yuan Tian. The manager will arrange it and guide you to book the trip (and refund the price difference for those who have already paid ^_^).

    FYI: Two of our group are PhD students (Yuan and me), while I don't know about the other two companions - the manager set up the group for us. The group may be larger if other individual travelers wish to join, so hopefully we may get the lowest possible price.

    Hello everyone,

    Now we have enough companions to form a full group for Akagera. We've also got the companion to Nyungwe.

    Thank you all, and sorry for the trouble as the arrangement and contact of the group is a bit messy. Anyone interested in Akagera NP may still contact the travel manager - it seems there might be even more people to form groups with other travelers.
