Safeguarding biodiversity in the Anthropocene
The Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, Universidad de las Américas, Puebla, Universidad Iberoaméricana, Puebla, and Motocle A.C. co-hosted the LACA 2020 Conference on November 9 – 13, 2020 online. The meeting brought together 335 persons from 30 countries interested in conservation in the region, including scientists, students, managers, journalists, decision-makers, and other conservation professionals. During the event, participants presented new findings, initiatives, methods, tools, and opportunities conservation science and practice. We had 194 presentations in different forums, symposiums, and oral and poster presentations, we also counted training sessions and social and cultural events.
LACCCB 2018
The LACA Region held its first ever Latin America and Caribbean Congress for Conservation Biology in July 2018 in Trinidad & Tobago.
